The short answer
The best AI for sales in November 2026 is Claude, from Anthropic, because it writes careful outreach and account briefs from large amounts of material and, since September 2026, works with Salesforce accounts, opportunities and pipeline through a beta plugin with 37 sales skills for organisations Salesforce approves. Fireflies.ai is the runner-up for call notes and CRM follow-up. The best free option is Perplexity, for account research with numbered citations.
| Our pick | Claude (Anthropic), Pro for one person, Team for 2 to 150 users |

| Runner-up | Fireflies.ai, for calls and CRM notes |
| Best free | Perplexity, for cited account research |
| Best inside Microsoft 365 | Microsoft 365 Copilot in Outlook and Teams |

| Watch out for | Recording consent, and training on personal plans |
The best AI for sales in November 2026
Sales people do not need an AI that writes more cold emails. They need less time on research, notes and CRM admin, and better preparation for the conversations that matter. So we judged tools on four jobs: researching accounts, writing outreach that sounds human, capturing calls, and keeping the pipeline up to date. The picks are based on what each maker documents today, not on a lab test.
| Tool | Pick it if | The catch | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Our pick | Claude | You want account research, careful writing and Salesforce work in one assistant | The Salesforce plugin is a beta for approved organisations, and every plan has usage limits |
| Runner-up | Fireflies.ai | Your problem is call notes, follow-ups and getting calls into the CRM | The free plan pushes the bot to auto-join every meeting |
| Best free | Perplexity | You need fast account research with sources you can check | Free, Pro and Max data can be used for training until you switch it off |
Our pick: Claude
Why. Anthropic's Claude is strong at the two things that win deals: understanding a lot of material and writing like a thoughtful person rather than a template. Paste a prospect's annual report, three news articles and your call notes, and Claude can produce a one-page account brief with a sensible angle. On 15 September 2026 Anthropic added Salesforce in Claude, a plugin that works with your accounts, opportunities and pipeline and comes with 37 sales skills. It is a beta on paid plans, open to organisations that Salesforce approves through its beta sign-up. Claude Dashboards (beta, Pro and above) builds charts from connected apps such as Salesforce and shows each chart's query and last refresh, so a pipeline review is a question away. Gmail, Google Calendar and Drive connectors let Claude prepare for a meeting from your inbox and calendar, and it asks for approval before sending anything.
Since 16 September 2026 Cowork has been rolling out into every conversation on Pro and Max, so Claude can take on a whole task and hand back files, such as a tailored proposal document or a short pitch deck with Claude Slides.
Who it suits. Account executives and founders who sell complex deals, and teams on Salesforce. Pro adds Research, Claude in Chrome and the Microsoft 365 connector. Team covers 2 to 150 users with SSO and admin controls, and Team and Enterprise content is not used for training by default.
The catch. Usage limits apply on every plan, and long tasks with the heavier models use your allowance faster. The Salesforce plugin is a beta, so check every update it proposes before it reaches the CRM. On Free, Pro, Max and Ultra, chats can be used for training unless you turn off Help improve our AI models under Settings, Privacy. More in our Claude guide.
Runner-up: Fireflies.ai
Why. If your biggest time sink is the call itself and what comes after it, a meeting assistant pays back faster than a chatbot. Fireflies.ai records and transcribes calls in more than 100 languages, either with a bot that joins the meeting or, on the Mac and Windows desktop app, by capturing system audio so no bot joins. It writes summaries and action items, connects to more than 100 tools including CRMs, offers more than 200 AI Skills and Live Assist suggestions during calls, and Business adds conversation intelligence such as talk-time and sentiment analytics plus team analytics. Fireflies says meeting content is never used to train any AI models.
Who it suits. Sales teams with many calls a week, sales managers who coach from recordings, and anyone who forgets to update the CRM after a call.
The catch. For accounts created on or after 1 September 2026, unlimited free transcription only applies while auto-join for calendar meetings is on, which makes consent hardest to manage. Tell prospects you are recording. No-bot recordings do not name speakers. Otter.ai is the close alternative: its Work Mode (27 October 2026) drafts follow-up emails and updates CRM records for all paid users, and for English-language sales teams that want prep and follow-up done for them it can be the better fit, but Otter trains on de-identified recordings with no simple opt-out. Read Otter vs Fireflies.
Best free option: Perplexity
Why. Account research is where sales people waste the most time, and Perplexity is built for it. It searches the web and answers with numbered citations, so you can open the source before you quote a prospect's revenue or their new product line back to them. Perplexity's pricing page describes the free plan as good for limited daily usage, with citations in every answer, which covers a few account checks before calls.
Who it suits. Sales development reps, account executives preparing a first call, and founders doing their own outreach.
The catch. Citations do not guarantee the summary is right, so open the important ones. On Free, Pro and Max, AI data retention is on by default, which means your searches can be used for training until you turn it off under Account settings, Preferences, AI data retention. Do not paste customer data into a free account. See our Perplexity guide.
If your company runs on Microsoft 365, Google Workspace or another CRM
- Microsoft 365 Copilot works inside Outlook and Teams with your company's mail and files under enterprise data protection, and writes Teams meeting recaps. It is the natural choice if your sales team lives in Outlook. See our Copilot guide.
- ChatGPT Business connects to Google Workspace, Slack and Microsoft 365 for teams of 2 to 200, and business data is not used for training by default. Compare it in ChatGPT vs Claude.
- Zapier offers a Lead Enrichment Agent and a Meeting Prep Agent template, and its AI by Zapier step can require approval before it updates a record. Useful when your CRM has no strong AI of its own.

How to choose the right AI for sales
- Where does your time actually go? If it is research and writing, start with Claude or Perplexity. If it is calls, notes and CRM updates, start with Fireflies or Otter.
- Which CRM and office suite do you use? On Salesforce, Claude's plugin is the most direct route once Salesforce approves your organisation for the beta. On Microsoft 365, check Copilot first. Pick tools that connect to where your pipeline already lives, so nobody copies data by hand.
- What are your consent and data rules? Recording calls needs consent rules that fit your countries and customers. Customer data belongs in a business plan where training is off by default, not in a personal account.
A sales workflow from first research to updated CRM
Here is one deal cycle, end to end, with our picks.
- Research the account. Ask Perplexity for the company's latest news, priorities and leadership changes from the last 12 months, with sources. Open the two or three that matter.
- Build the account brief. Paste the research, the CRM history and your notes into Claude and ask for a one-page brief: their likely problem, who decides, the angle to lead with and the questions to ask.
- Write the first message. Ask Claude for three short versions, each built on one specific fact from the research. Pick one and make it sound like you.
- Run and capture the call. Tell the prospect you are recording. Fireflies transcribes it and lists action items.
- Follow up the same day. Paste the summary into Claude and ask for a follow-up email that confirms what you heard, the next step and the date.
- Update the pipeline. Let the Salesforce plugin or Fireflies' CRM integration draft the update, then review the stage, amount and next step yourself before saving.
- Review weekly. Ask Claude Dashboards for a pipeline view, or paste an export, and ask which deals have stalled and why.

Prompts for sales you can copy
These work in Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot or Perplexity. Replace everything in square brackets, and never paste customer data into an account that trains on it.
Prompts to copy
Account research with sources
Research [company] for a first sales call about [your offer]. Give me their latest news from the last 12 months, stated priorities, recent leadership changes, and any hiring or product moves that suggest they need [problem you solve]. Cite every point with a link and a date, and say clearly where information is missing.
You get: A sourced briefing you can check before the call
One-page account brief
Using the research and notes below, write a one-page account brief for [company]: their likely problem, who probably decides and who influences, the angle I should lead with, three risks to the deal, and five open questions for the first call. [paste research and notes]
You get: A clear plan for the conversation
Outreach built on one real fact
Write three versions of a first email to [name, role] at [company]. Each must open with one specific, true fact from this research: [paste]. Under 90 words, no buzzwords, one question at the end, and a subject line under six words. Tell me which version you would send and why.
You get: Short, specific outreach that does not read like a template
Call prep: objections and answers
I am selling [offer] to [role] at a [industry] company of [size]. List the eight objections I am most likely to hear, ranked by how often they kill deals like this, and give a two-sentence honest answer and a follow-up question for each.
You get: A ready objection sheet for the call
Follow-up from call notes
Here is the summary of my call with [name]: [paste]. Write a follow-up email that confirms what I heard in their words, the agreed next step with a date, and what I will send. Keep it under 150 words and list anything we did not agree on so I can check it.
You get: A same-day follow-up that confirms the next step
CRM update draft
From these call notes, draft a CRM update for the opportunity [name]: stage, next step with date, decision makers mentioned, budget signals, risks and competitors named. Mark anything that was not said explicitly as [unconfirmed].
You get: A clean update you review before saving
Stalled deal review
Here is my pipeline export: [paste]. Find deals with no activity in [14] days or with a close date that has moved more than once. For each, suggest the most likely reason it stalled and one specific action to restart it this week.
You get: A short list of deals to rescue and how
